Your chance to ask
Here are the answers to a few questions you may have. You can also get in touch with us – we’d love to answer your questions over the phone, by email, or in person!
How will my safety be ensured on outreach?
While there are various unforeseen variables on any outreach we offer a portable GPS personal locator beacon to each team travelling to ‘at risk’ areas. Teams will be located anywhere worldwide and retrieved, given medical care if required and returned to safety upon the activation of the device. Staff hold basic first aid skills and carry first aid kits at all times.
How much spending money will I need?
We will provide food, housing, books, and transportation for school functions and activities. Miscellaneous expenses like laundry, snacks, special dietary needs, postage, doctors’ visits etc will be your own responsibility.
Can I get college credits for my DTS?
Our Discipleship Training Schools can be accredited to YWAM’s University of the Nations, and you can receive up to 20 credits upon successfully completing the course. Students can decide whether to be registered with the UofN at their own expense within the first week of training.
Do I get a certificate?
All DTS students will receive a certificate upon successfully completing the course. Day students may receive a certificate depending on what course(s) they are involved in.
Should I bring my own instruments?
We have some instruments on base, but we encourage students to bring any instruments that are travel-friendly such as guitars, violins, flutes etc that they are comfortable and used to playing. Taking these items on outreach is optional, and safe storage of them will be available.
What does all inclusive mean?
All inclusive refers to everything that is included in the fees for your chosen DTS.
This includes; food, accommodation, transport, activities during lecture phase.
Flights to and from your outreach location, food, accommodation, and activities on outreach.
